Senior Tax Manager
Primary Objectives:
The Senior Tax Manager will oversee complex federal and international tax compliance and consulting engagements for mid-size clients. This role is responsible for managing engagement teams, reviewing highly technical federal and cross-border calculations and filings, advising clients on federal and international tax matters, and supporting Directors, Principals and Partners in delivering high-quality services.
The Senior Tax Manager plays a critical role in ensuring technical accuracy, managing client relationships, and mentoring staff while contributing to the overall growth and strength of the Firm’s tax practice.
Essential Functions:
· Manages and reviews complex U.S. international tax filings, including Forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8858, 8992 and 8993 (GILTI / FDII), 1118 and 1116 (foreign tax credits), 926 and related outbound reporting, among others.
· Oversee calculations related to Subpart F income, GILTI tested income and QBAI, E&P and PTEP tracking, basis adjustments and previously taxed income.
· Reviews international components of consolidated US income tax returns.
· Ensures compliance with reporting deadlines and Driven’s documentation standards.
· Performs advanced technical review of workpapers and returns.
· Responsible for supervision of all tax team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of all returns and projects.
· Oversees preparation and reviews of US income tax compliance for corporate, partnership and individual clients
· Identifies opportunities that lead to the Firm’s change and growth.
· Works closely with partners and managers to identify risks and technical issues, make assessments, and implement effective solutions.
· Stays current on U.S. international tax developments and IRS regulatory changes.
· Reviews and / or prepare tax memos and consultations on federal and / or international tax matters as needed, including research of complex tax matters.
· Supports international aspects of M&A transactions and due diligence.
· Effectively communicates with Leadership and Operations teams and acts as liaison between Firm and clients.
· Initiates and develops new client relationships beneficial to the Firm. These can be professional, civic, and/or community service contacts. Occasional travel to client locations may be required.
· Builds and strengthens relationships with clients; recognizes opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients.
· Supports Driven’s business initiatives. Develops and executes a clear plan to attract new businesses, considering Driven’s growth goals.
· Manages the engagement economics, billing and collections and engagement letters.
· Keeps Partners/Principals/Directors informed of all developments, changes and/or matters related to client engagements.
· Evaluates & monitors the technical knowledge and performance of tax professionals according to Firm’s policy, and coordinates assigned projects based on staff skill sets.
· Coaches and develops less experienced team members; provides timely feedback.
· Fosters an environment of trust, respect, and communication as well as teamwork and collaboration.
· Develops content and participates in in-house and local/external learning and training sessions as an instructor.
· Reviews resume and conduct interviews for recruitment of candidates and consultants.
Manages consulting work, budgets, and assists with administrative functions and other responsibilities as assigned by the Partners/Principals/Directors.
Job Qualifications:
· CPA license required; MST, JD, or LLM in Tax preferred.
· 5-8 years of domestic and/or international tax experience in public accounting.
· Demonstrates expert knowledge of the US Tax Code and US International reporting, accounting standards & regulations and research techniques.
· Knowledge of state, local, and sales and use taxes is preferred but not required.
· Possesses exemplary budgeting & analytical skills, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
· Proficiency with tax, accounting, and software programs, including Microsoft applications.
· Possesses excellent verbal, written, communication and collaboration skills.
· Fully bilingual (Spanish and English).
· Demonstrates leadership and the ability to work toward the Firm’s goals and values.
· Possesses strong project management skills.
· Has a working knowledge of all reference sources available to Driven.
· Is a self-starter who works efficiently, remains attentive and completes assignments in a timely manner.

Work Environment:
· CPA office environment, which may at times include a fast-paced work atmosphere, frequent phone calls and elevated noise levels.
· This position is 100% in-office. Remote work is not available.
· Shifts may include working long hours, holidays, and weekends to complete assigned projects and meet deadlines.
· The use of common office machinery and equipment is commonplace, and may include occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, bending, and kneeling may be required.
· Long periods of sitting, and occasional standing and walking required and may involve climbing stairs and/or walking up inclines.
· Position may include frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds. Non-smoking environment.
